Thank you for considering a vacation at one of our well-appointed cabins.  When packing for your vacation, don't forget your American Legion membership card.  You'll need to show it if requested by the Camp American Legion Director or Camp staff.  Don't forget to pack a supply of sheets (twin beds), pillowcases and towels.  It's also a smart idea to bring some flashlights and chargers for your mobile phones.

Directions to Camp American Legion

No key in lockbox? Lost key? No ice? It's time to take a little trip over to Camp American Legion!

The folks at Camp American Legion can solve your key problem. They also have a good supply of ice for your drinks (Small donation welcome). Besides all that, Camp American Legion is well worth visiting. Situated on the shores of Big Carr Lake, it's our Wisconsin Legion's beautiful northwoods retreat for veterans.  Every summer, it comes to life, providing comfort, rehabilitation and new friendships for hundreds of our fellow vets. This scenic venue has been the pride and joy of Wisconsin Legionnaires since 1925. (Nothing like it anywhere else!) Here's how you get there from our cabins:

Turn left on Thrush Road and go about 0.2 mile. Turn left onto Bird Lake Road and proceed about 0.3 mile until you get to County Highway D. Turn left and go about 0.3 mile until you get to the Camp. There's excellent signage on the right side of Highway D, prior to the Camp's main entrance. There is also ample parking near the Camp's main lodge where the office is located.

Markers on left give locations of Post 449 cabins.  Marker on right gives location of Camp American Legion office.
